Account and privacy

Answers to common questions about your account and sign-in, what others can see, your data, cookies, reporting people and age requirements.

Quick answers about your account, your privacy and staying safe on Frameleaf. For the full details, read our privacy policy and cookie policy.

Your account

How do I sign up?

Sign up with an email address and password, or with your Google or GitHub account. Every account picks a username during sign-up.

How do I change my username?

Go to Profile settings. Usernames are 3 to 30 characters and can use lowercase letters, numbers and underscores. Your channel address uses your username, so changing it changes your channel link too.

How do I change my email address or password?

Go to Account settings. If you've forgotten your password, use the reset link on the sign-in page.

Can I sign in with Google or GitHub?

Yes. You can connect or disconnect Google and GitHub in Account settings under connected accounts.

You can't disconnect your only way to sign in. If you signed up with Google or GitHub, set a password or connect the other provider before you disconnect.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Account settings and choose to delete your account. To confirm, type your username, and your password if your account has one.

The moment you delete your account, your email address, name, username, bio, links, avatar and banner are erased, your Google and GitHub connections and sessions are removed, and you come off every follower list, along with your list, history, ratings and notifications. Your email address and username are free to use again straight away. Your works stop being visible to anyone, and comments you left show as "Deleted account". After 30 days, your works, series and anything else left are deleted permanently, as set out in the privacy policy. Save copies of anything you want to keep before you delete: there's no undo.

If you can't sign in to delete your account, open a request at /support/new or email support@frameleaf.co.uk.

Privacy

What's public on my profile?

Your channel at /@username shows your name, username, avatar, banner, bio, website and any social links you add. Anyone can also see:

  • works and series you publish as Public, plus Unlisted ones if they have the link
  • comments you post
  • rating totals on each work

Your individual ratings aren't listed against your name.

Who can see my list and history?

Only you. My list, History and your progress in each work are private to your account.

Do you use my uploads to train AI?

No. We don't use your uploads or activity to train AI models, and we don't give or license your content to anyone else for that purpose.

Do you sell my data or show ads?

No. We don't sell personal data and we don't run ads.

How do I get a copy of my data?

There's no self-serve export yet. Email privacy@frameleaf.co.uk or open a request at /support/new. We'll confirm it's you and respond within one month.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete your own comments at any time, and set any of your works to Private so only you can see them. To delete your whole account, go to Account settings, as described under "How do I delete my account?" above. To ask us to erase specific data, email privacy@frameleaf.co.uk.

What cookies do you use?

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms. Analytics (Google Analytics and PostHog) only run if you accept them in the cookie banner.

To change your choice, clear this site's cookies and site data in your browser. The banner appears again on your next visit. The cookie policy lists every cookie we use.

Safety

How do I report someone?

Every work, series, comment and channel has a Report option. Choose the reason that fits best:

  • Sexualises or endangers minors
  • Depicts a real person without consent
  • Harassment or bullying
  • Hate speech
  • Violent or graphic content
  • Copyright or trademark infringement
  • Misleading or impersonation
  • Spam
  • Something else

Reports go to our moderation team, and the first two reasons are reviewed first. The person you report isn't told who reported them.

Can I block someone?

Not yet. If someone is harassing you, report their comments or their channel and we'll review it.

Why did a work disappear?

There are a few reasons a work can stop appearing:

  • The creator deleted it, or made it Private or Unlisted. Unlisted work never appears in listings or search, but the link still works.
  • It's rated Mature (18+) and you haven't turned on mature content in Preferences.
  • We removed it for breaking the community guidelines. Everyone except the creator sees a "not found" page.
  • The creator's account was suspended, so their works no longer appear in listings.

If it's your own work that was removed, we email you and send you a notification with the reason, and you'll see the same notice when you open the work. To appeal, open a request at /support/new?category=appeal (the link in the email takes you straight there). A member of our moderation team reviews every appeal and tells you the outcome. We keep a removed work for 90 days so it can be put back if your appeal succeeds; after that it's deleted permanently.

If you reported a work, we'll tell you whether we took action or found no breach. For privacy we never say what happened to another account.

How old do I need to be?

You need to be 13 or older to have an account, or older if the law where you live requires it. You need to be 18 or older to turn on mature content.

What if someone is in danger?

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. For urgent child-safety concerns on Frameleaf, email safety@frameleaf.co.uk as well as using Report.
