Getting started
How to find, watch and read AI-made videos, comics, stories and lore, and how to save, follow, rate, comment and share along the way.
Frameleaf is a library of AI-made videos, comics, stories and lore from independent creators. You can watch and read without an account. Sign up and you can also save work to your list, pick up where you left off, follow creators, rate, comment and get notifications.
Find something to watch or read
The home page shows shelves of new and trending work. When you're signed in, a "Continue watching" shelf takes you straight back to anything you've started.
There are a few other ways in:
- Explore (/explore) shows everything, with a page for each format: Videos, Comics, Stories and Lore.
- Genres group work by genre, such as Sci-fi, Fantasy, Horror, Anime, Cyberpunk and Slice of life.
- Made with pages group work by the AI tool the creator used, such as Sora, Veo, Runway, Kling, Midjourney, Flux, Suno, Udio, ElevenLabs, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or ComfyUI. Select a tool on any work page to see more work made with it.
- Search (/search) finds works, series and creators.
Every work has its own page. Every series has a page that lists its episodes in order. Every creator has a channel at /@username.
Some work is rated Mature (18+) and stays hidden until you choose to see it. Content ratings explains how that works.
Watching videos
Videos play on the work page. Some creators upload a video file; others link a video hosted on YouTube or Vimeo, which plays in that provider's own player.
Autoplay is on by default. You can turn it off in Preferences.
Reading comics
Comics open in a page reader. The creator chooses the reading direction for each comic, so the reader is already set up the right way when you open it:
- Vertical scroll is the default. Pages run top to bottom as one long strip, webtoon style.
- Left to right reads like most Western comics.
- Right to left reads like manga.
Reading stories and lore
Stories and lore open in a text reader with an estimated reading time at the top.
- Stories are narrative fiction: short stories, serials and novels.
- Lore is worldbuilding: character profiles, places, histories and codices that fill in a creator's world.
Creators often publish lore alongside a video or comic series, so check their channel if you want to go deeper.
My list, history and progress
Sign in to keep track of what you're watching and reading.
- My list (/library) holds the works and series you've saved. Save one from its page and it appears here.
- History (/history) shows the works you've opened.
- Progress is saved automatically: your position in a video, the page you reached in a comic and how far you scrolled in a story. Open the work again, or use "Continue watching" on the home page, to carry on from there.
Your list and history are private. Nobody else can see them.
Follow creators
Follow a creator from their channel to keep up with their new work.
- The Following feed (/feed) shows the latest work from creators you follow.
- /following lists the creators you follow.
Rate, comment and share
Ratings
Rate any work from 1 to 5 stars. Each person gets one rating per work. Creators can't rate their own work.
Comments
Comments are plain text, up to 2,000 characters. You can reply to a comment, and replies go one level deep. You can edit or delete your own comments at any time.
The creator of a work can pin one comment and delete any comment on their own work. Creators can also turn comments off for a work, so you won't see a comment box everywhere.
Sharing
The share menu on a work lets you copy the link, use your device's share sheet, or post it to X, Reddit, Facebook or WhatsApp.
If something breaks the community guidelines, use the Report option on the work, series, comment or channel instead of replying to it.
Notifications
When you're signed in, Notifications tell you when:
- a creator you follow publishes new work
- someone follows you
- someone comments on your work or replies to your comment
Settings worth knowing
- Profile is where you set your name, username, avatar, banner, bio, website and social links.
- Account is where you change your email address and password, connect Google or GitHub, and delete your account.
- Preferences is where you turn mature content on or off (it's off by default), turn autoplay on or off, and choose a dark or light theme.
